Title Insurance Survey

2006 Title Insurance Survey

The title insurance survey is based upon several scenarios, or hypothetical risks, that represent the most common variables applied to the purchase of title insurance quoted today. Answering the questions below will allow us to automatically select the scenario that most closely represents your specific situation.

CDI provides homeowners and homebuyers a comparison of title fees and escrow fees from title insurance companies licensed to do business in the state of California. CDI provides the homebuyer with pricing information for an owner's policy and a lender's policy. For those refinancing, CDI provides pricing information for a lender's policy based on the new transaction amount. The homeowner or homebuyer can choose one company for escrow services and another for title insurance.

Title Insurance and escrow can also be purchased through an Underwritten Title Company (UTC) which is an agent for one or more title insurance companies. Underwritten Title Companies are not included in this survey. Contact your real estate broker or loan officer for more information on Underwritten Title Companies.

Remember, the CDI is a regulatory agency and not an insurance agent. As such, we cannot provide actual quotes. This survey is intended solely as a comparison of fees among some companies. You should be aware that the amount you actually get charged by any particular insurer may be different than the amount you see on our surveys. These surveys provide basic fee information and do not factor in discounts or surcharges which may be applicable to your unique situation.
